Lindsey McMurray

Managing Partner

Lindsey founded Pollen Street in 2013 and has been a private equity investor for more than 20 years. Before Pollen Street, Lindsey led the team managing the £1.1bn Special Opportunities Fund within RBS and also spent six years as a Partner at Cabot Square Capital. Lindsey serves as NED of a number of portfolio companies including Shawbrook Bank, Cashflows Europe and BidX1. She has a First-Class Honours degree from Strathclyde University and studied for an MPhil in Finance. Lindsey is a keen runner and supports a number of charities, including ones mentoring children in state schools and projects in Africa.

Carl Nauckhoff

Carl joined Investindustrial in 2009 and he is the Head of Investor Relations. He previously worked with the Firm during the raising of Investindustrial III in 2005. From 2007, he was a partner and managing director at Garrison Investment Group, a $2.5 billion special opportunity investment firm in New York. Prior to working at Garrison, he was a director and partner with MVision Private Equity Advisers, an international private placement agent in London and New York. He began his career in the merger and acquisitions group of Lehman Brothers in London.

David Barbour

David Barbour is joint Managing Partner and co-founder of FPE Capital, a leading sector specialist growth investor focussed on the UK software and services sectors. David focusses on the ICT services, B2B data and fintech sectors. He also leads the firm’s investor relations and fundraising activities, including the successful raising of the firm’s spin out FPE Fund II at £101m. He currently sits on the board of IWSR Holdings Limited, Optimity and Intragen Holdings.

David co-founded Synova in 2007 having previously advised large corporate clients from a subsidiary of WPP before joining a prominent European family investment office. David has 20 years’ experience of investing in and advising European high-growth companies, and was recognised in the prestigious Dow Jones '40 under 40 Rising Stars in Private Equity'. He leads the Financial Services and FinTech sector, and works closely with owners and managers across the portfolio to support their growth ambitions. He currently serves on the Boards of AllClear Insurance & JM Glendinning, as well as serving as a trustee of a leading anti-racism charity.

Wol Kolade

Wol has been instrumental in developing the Livingbridge strategy, leading the spin out from its parent F&C in 2005, building the team and a strong internal culture. He joined a predecessor of Livingbridge in 1993 and has led the business since 1998. His role encompasses overall responsibility for the leadership and strategic development of Livingbridge, senior-level involvement in winning deals and active involvement in selective key investments. Wol initially trained as an engineer, having studied civil and structural engineering at Kings College, London. After obtaining an MBA from Exeter University, he spent three years with Barclays before joining Livingbridge. Wol takes an active role in private equity industry initiatives and issues. He was previously a Chairman of the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association in 2007/2008, a Council Member from 2002 - 2009 and Chairman of the Responsible Investment Advisory Board from 2009 - 2010. Wol is Chairman of the Guys and St Thomas' Charity, which has assets in excess of £800 million, making it one of the largest medical charities in the UK. The charity awards grants to facilitate improvements to healthcare services in the London Boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark. In 2018 he was also appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the NHS Improvement Board and more recently as Trustee of Somerset House Trust. Wol received an honorary doctorate from the University of Exeter in 2014.

Neil MacDougall

Neil joined the pan-European, mid-market buyout firm Silverfleet in 1989, led the buyout of the company from Prudential plc in 2007, and was Managing Partner from 2004 to 2019. He has led some of Silverfleet’s most profitable investments as well as three successful fundraisings. Neil chaired the UK & European Committee of the BVCA, before joining the Council in 2019 and became Chairman of the association in April 2020. Prior to joining Silverfleet, Neil was a management consultant at Bain & Co. He read Natural Sciences and Computer Science at St Catharine’s College and received an MA from Cambridge University.

Dörte Höppner

As COO of Riverside Europe, Dörte works closely with Managing Partner, Karsten Langer, and coordinates operations across the firm’s European offices. Dörte leads the firm’s investor relations & fundraising initiatives with European investors and heads Riverside’s European ESG work. An economist by background, Dörte started her career as News Editor at one of the leading television channels in Germany, (ZDF), in 1994, before joining the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) as Head of Communications. In 2007, she stepped up to run the German Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVK) as Managing Director, before joining Invest Europe in 2011.

Pawel Gierynski

Experienced navigator for private equity transactions in Central Europe Paweł joined Abris at inception and is the firm’s Managing Partner. He has more than 20 years of private equity experience and, during this time, has been instrumental in the development of Abris’ activities across CE. Prior to Abris, Paweł was a Managing Partner at Copernicus Capital, with responsibility for the management of National Investment Funds (mass privatisation programme). Additionally, Paweł has held C-suite positions, including a Warsaw-listed construction group.

CIO of Nationwide Pension Fund until March 2021; managing £6.5bn of assets and implementing the asset and liability strategy on behalf of the Trustees. Investment across a range of asset classes with a focus on illiquid private markets covering private equity, infrastructure, private debt, real estate and real estate debt and recently led the completion of a £1.7bn contingent asset structure that protects members in the event of the insolvency of the sponsor. Previous experience included leading the creation and implementation of a covered bond and a RMBS programme as well as ABS investing and social housing debt funding.

Roy Kuo

Roy is the Team Head of Alternative Strategies at the Church Commissioners, which manages the Church of England’s endowment. He is responsible for managing the endowment’s allocations in the alternatives sector. Roy was previously the Head of Research at Dexion Capital, where he was responsible for the firm’s mandates and for establishing investment partnerships with major investment managers in the credit, hedge funds, infrastructure and real estate sectors. Prior to this, he was the Alternatives Fund Manager at Bramdean Asset Management. Roy holds a MBA from Said Business School (Oxford) and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin.

Peter Linthwaite

Peter has spent over 30 years in private equity as both a GP with Murray Johnstone and 350I, working in the UK and Asia, and now as an LP . He was also CEO of the BVCA. He is currently Head of Private Equity at Royal London Asset Management which manages c.£140 billion on behalf of the Royal London Group ( the UK’s largest life and pensions mutual insurer) and other clients.

Joana Rocha Scaff is a Managing Director of Neuberger Berman, Head of Europe Private Equity and a member of the Co-Investment, Private Investment Portfolios and Secondary Investment Committees. Ms. Scaff has over 20 years of experience in financial markets and joined NB in 2005. Prior to PE, she worked in investment banking at Lehman Brothers, Citigroup, and ES Investment. Ms. Scaff received her M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and her B.A. in Business Management and Administration from the Universidade Catolica of Lisbon. She is a member of the BVCA’s LP Committee and of the LPAC of multiple European PE funds.

Imogen Richards

Imogen is a Partner and Global Head of Pantheon’s Investment Structuring and Strategy Team, part of the Investment Team, where she has responsibility for investment transaction execution, portfolio strategy, investment research and treasury & fund management. Imogen joined Pantheon in 2005 and prior to Pantheon she did direct investing for a small captive private equity team at a bank. She holds a MA in natural sciences from Cambridge University.

Carolina Espinal

Carolina Espinal joined HarbourVest in 2004 to focus on partnership investments in Europe and other emerging markets and became a Managing Director in 2015. Carolina focuses on managing European venture capital and buyout partnership investments and has collaborated with the secondary and co-investment groups on several investment opportunities. She currently serves on the advisory boards of funds managed by Abénex Capital, ECI, Inflexion, and Advent International. Her previous experience includes two years as a financial analyst with the Merrill Lynch Energy and Power mergers and acquisitions team in Houston.

Anne joined the EBRD in 1993 from Natixis, and worked in several capacities prior to heading Equity Funds, leading EBRD’s debt and direct equity investments into financial institutions. Anne holds Masters degrees from Stanford University, Ecole Nationale du Génie Rural, des Eaux et des Forêts and Institut National Agronomique Paris-Grignon. Nina Kraus

Nina is a Vice President on Hamilton Lane's Global Investment Team. She is based in the firm's London office and focuses on fund investment opportunities across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Nina began her career at Hamilton Lane in 2013 and has previously worked for Hamilton Lane in Philadelphia and Munich, where she focused on North American and DACH market fund investment opportunities, respectively. Nina received a B.A. in Economics from Hamilton College.
